Case Study

Migration from DRA-CAD to AutoCAD in a company’s civil engineering and architecture department

Requests	We have introduced AutoCAD, but we can’t throw away the DRA-CAD that we have been using.。 Until now, the layers and fonts have been different depending on the person who draws the drawings, and they have not been unified. We would like to unify the drawings in the future. We would like to establish a system that allows all parties in charge, from design to construction management, to share drawings. We want to improve the level of employees’ understanding of the differences between AutoCAD and DRA-CAD operations and the basics of AutoCAD.
Proposal and Implementation	In response to the client’s request, we made the following proposals and implemented them. Preparation of CAD training materials and training 3 times Since the client had been using DRA-CAD, we provided easy-to-understand explanations of the differences in operation for each CAD function. In addition, sufficient time was allocated to explain the basics of AutoCAD, and the instructor and trainees proceeded simultaneously to a level where they could create simple drawings. Creation of manuals on how to convert drawing data and drawing creation procedures – A manual on how to transfer drawings created with DRA-CAD for use with AutoCAD was created and concisely summarized so that anyone could understand. In addition, we have also created manuals on the arrangements for creating drawings. Creation of manuals for basic AutoCAD Map3D/AutoCAD operations and operations of functions that are relevant to the business. In addition to the basic operation manuals, we have also compiled application manuals for the functions and operations in which AutoCAD excels.
